These dates may change depending on the security situation in the region.
- Application deadline: August 16, 2026.
- Assessments in Amman: Late September 2026.
- Relocation date: Successful candidates are expected to move to Nova Scotia in 2027.
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following four requirements:
1. English Language Scores:
- IELTS Academic: Minimum of 7 in reading, listening, and speaking, and a minimum of 6.5 in writing.
- OET Pharmacy: Minimum of B in reading, listening, and speaking, and a minimum of C in writing.
2. Recent Experience: You have practiced pharmacy within the last two years. Your training hours during your pharmacy education count.
3. Education: You graduated from a pharmacy training program recognized by the JPLP.
4. Professional Standing: You have a clean record with no malpractice cases or unresolved complaints that call into question your capacity to practice pharmacy. If you are licensed with the Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPA), you must be in good standing. However, you do not need a JPA licence for this application.
Please note: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee you a spot. Space is limited. We will review all applications and invite a small number of people to participate in the next step.
How are candidates selected?
- Competency Assessment: We will invite selected applicants to participate in a competency assessment in Amman.
- Employability Assessment: Based on their performance in the competency assessment, we will invite candidates to participate in an interview with a panel of pharmacy employers from Nova Scotia.
- Final Selection: We will select candidates for the JPLP pilot based on their performance in both the competency and employability assessments.
What happens if you are selected?
If you are chosen for the JPLP pilot, we will support you with:
Employment: We will connect you to a pharmacy employer in Nova Scotia who will offer you a job.
Training while in Jordan: Dalhousie University will provide specialized training to support your transition to Nova Scotia before you leave Jordan.
Support while in Jordan: Immigration and settlement support will be provided.
Moving to Nova Scotia: All selected participants will move to Nova Scotia together as a group. When you arrive in Nova Scotia, you will be supported to integrate into your new community and into pharmacy practice.
