Jordan Pharmacy Licensure Pathway Pilot

The Jordan Pharmacy Licensure Pathway (JPLP) is a modernized licensure pathway being piloted with pharmacists educated in Jordan. This pathway offers a unique opportunity to be assessed for competency through an in-practice readiness assessment program.

May 2025 | Screenings in Amman, Jordan.
June 2025 | Selection of candidates.
January 2026 | 17 Cohort One candidates arrived in Nova Scotia from Jordan.
February 2026 | PRAP Practice-based assessment through Dalhousie
Continuing Education begins.
May 2026 | Cohort One beginning to obtain full licensure (76.5% completed PRAP).

Spring 2026 | Applications opened for Cohort Two (applicants residing in Jordan).
Summer 2026 | Applications open for Halifax screening (applicants residing in Nova Scotia).

For pharmacists educated and living in Jordan, this pathway offers a unique opportunity to secure licensure, employment, and immigration support to practice in Nova Scotia.

Dates may change depending on the security situation in the region. 

  • Application deadline: November 8, 2026
  • Screenings in Amman: mid-January, 2027
  • Relocation date: Successful candidates are expected to move to Nova Scotia in 2027.

All selected participants will move to Nova Scotia together as a group. When you arrive in Nova Scotia, you will be supported to integrate into your new community and into pharmacy practice.

In response to the insights and workforce needs shared by the pharmacy sector, the NSPR has expanded the JPLP pilot to launch a Halifax Screened Cohort.

This pilot pathway is designed specifically to provide access to eligible, Jordan-educated pharmacists already living in Nova Scotia who are ready to build their pharmacy careers in the province.

Applications are now open for this Halifax screened pilot cohort.

  • Application deadline: September 18, 2026
  • Screenings in Halifax: Mid-October, 2026
  • Practice Readiness Assessment Program (PRAP):  Successful candidates are expected to begin PRAP in early 2027.
